Pattern Description: Simplicity 3503 knit dress in two lengths with bodice variations.
Pattern Sizing: 6-14. I made a 10, and it's still a little large. Lots of ease!
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing? Yeah, I think so.
Were the instructions easy to follow? They were but they left out a couple of steps. They forget to tell you to baste the front bodice together and the back bodice pieces together before you attach the midriff. Since I've made so many of these kinds of dresses before, I figured it out. Otherwise, this dress is cinch to put together.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like the maxi length and the gathers at the shoulders and bust. I also like the tie in the back.
Fabric Used: Funky polyester jersey from Fabric.com.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: n/a.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, I will sew it again. I have some pretty pink shimmery fabric that will go well with this style. Yes, I would recommend making this dress a size or two smaller than you normally would. The pattern has tons of ease.
Conclusion: I hope I find an occasion to wear this soon!
