Scrapbooking Days

I wanted to share some of my scrapbooking ventures. These two are my best pages to date. I bought this book called Creative Paper Techniques for Scrapbooks: More Than 75 Fresh Paper Craft Ideas (Memory Makers) . It really has revolutionized my scrapbooking experience. Below I employed some of the techniques I learned from the book.

These pictures I took on my July 2006 San Francisco trip to see my brother. The smaller picture is of Alcatraz and the larger one is of a cable car (not a trolley! as my brother pointed out). On the right side I used
louvers, which are simply folded strips of paper used to make slats or create dimension. I framed the louvers and created a pocket for my city pass. For the lettering, I used templates and cut out each letter and its shadow with scissors.

The red page is truly my pride and joy. It doesn't get any better than quilled flowers.
Quilling involves rolling very thin strips of paper (1/8" wide or narrower) and pinching them into various shapes such as marquises, tear drops, squares, diamonds, etc. Below, I matted pictures from San Francisco's Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park. I placed them horizontally on the page and arranged quilled flowers, leaves, and tendrills around the pictures to create an intricate frame. I also used a journaling stencil to create a spiral effect and placed a quilled flower in the middle. Quilling produces very striking effects that add an extra special touch to your pages.

The quilling looks magnificent! As always, you do things to perfection.
